It feels like time wasting

No, I’m not talking about blogging here and staying in touch but about being online in general. Having had an enforced sabatical I really do feel I’m wasting time when I’m online without a clear purpose.

My iPad was giving me strange readings for its battery level when I got it back and I had to spend ages messing around in Facebook, Google +, reading blogs etc in order to run the battery flat so I could recharge it again. What I was having to do was nothing that was any different to what I had happily spent time doing before it broke but the difference was that now I found myself resenting it.

What I have realised is that I don’t need to know what everyone else is up to all the time, nor do I need to check in with WordPress to see how many people have read my blog. I can get on with what I need to do, other people can do the same and I may catch up once a day or once a week, or I may not, it really doesn’t matter any more.

A friend asked the other day if I was going to be able to keep it up and not drift back into old ways. If the past week has been anything to go by then the answer is a resounding YES!
